How it works

Everything runs in your browser. The fields have no name, the form sends nothing, and the page rules forbid connections. Nothing is saved, not even in your browser. Pages with a checker never carry ads.

We check structure and check digits only. The European Commission does not publish the VAT algorithms (VIES FAQ), so we use public descriptions of each national rule and tested them on published examples. A result can be wrong, especially on rare number types. We do not query VIES: its notice forbids retransmitting it.
